Haryana govt to promote Haryanvi film industry

The Haryana government today said it would promote Haryanvi film industry and provide subsidy to movies made in the language.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting here of the Haryana Kala Parishad held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

At the meeting, budget of Rs 1.50 crore of the Haryana Kala Parishad for 2014-15 was also approved, officials said.

To promote folk culture of state, the Haryana Kala Parishad had started documentation of different forms of folk dances and folk music.

Appreciating activities of Kala Parishad in promoting folk culture of the state, Hooda announced increase in the monthly salary of the Director of Haryana Kala Parishad from Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000.
