In order to overcome the shortage of doctors in government hospitals, the Haryana health department will advertise for recruitment to 900 medical posts within a week.
The recruitment will not be made through the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). Rather it will be done by the state health department so that doctors could be appointed within four months, Health Minister, Anil Vij said today here.
He said after the recruitment, equipment would be installed in various hospitals to ensure proper utilization.

Villagers would be trained at these camps on state expenses and appointed to train others.
On being asked about the deplorable state of medical attention in the state, especially increase in the number of Hepatitis C and cancer cases in the district, Vij said that he had written to the Union Health Minister, J P Nadda, asking him to send a team of specialists to trace the reasons for the outbreak of these diseases.
Meanwhile, the state health minister ordered suspension of Tehsil Welfare Officer Fatehabad Vinod Chawla while presiding over the grievances committee here today.
The officer was suspended for not lodging a case against a family for a marriage solemnized between a girl and a minor boy at village Kanhari here.
Vij also expressed his anger after he learnt that there was delay in preparation of senior citizen cards on the part of Chawla.
He also reprimanded district excise and taxation officers for not checking the sale of illicit liquor and asked them to remove liquor vends located at bus stands.
