"The scheme 'Swadhar Greh' is aimed at protecting women who are deserted and without any family support, widows, survivors of natural disasters, who have been rendered homeless and are without any social and economic support," Haryana Women and Child Development Minister Geeta Bhukkal said today.
It would also cover women afflicted with HIV/AIDS, female prisoners released from jail and those who are without family, she said.
Women under social and economic family tension or discord, or those made to leave their homes without any means of subsistence and have no special protection from exploitation besides those facing litigation on account of marital disputes will also be covered.
Victims of human-trafficking will also be safeguarded along with girls rescued from brothels and other places where they face exploitation.
