Haryana health minister cancels leave of health officials

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij today ordered cancellation of leaves of doctors, dentists, paramedics and other officials till further orders, to control the spread of dengue and chikungunya.

The incidence of dengue and chikungunya is increasing in districts, especially those bordering Delhi, he said.

In Delhi, chikungunya and dengue are spreading like an epidemic, therefore, people must take preventive measures before commuting between Delhi and Haryana, he said.

The health minister directed senior health officers, including additional chief secretary PK Mahapatra, to take appropriate measures to check the spread of the diseases.

He stressed on the need for launching a drive to make people aware of preventions for the diseases.
