Haryana hikes honorarium for civic body officials

Ahead of the state assembly polls, the Haryana government today announced a hike in the honorarium being given to officials of the civic bodies.

These include mayors, senior deputy mayors, deputy mayors, presidents, vice-presidents and members of municipal corporations, councils and committees in the state.

In case of municipal corporations, a mayor would now get Rs 20,500 per month instead of Rs 7,500 per month and senior deputy mayor would get Rs 16,500 per month against earlier sum of Rs 6000, an official release said here today.

Similarly, a deputy mayor would get an honorarium of Rs 13,000 per month instead of Rs 5,000 and the municipal corporation member would get Rs 10,500 per month instead of Rs 2500.
 

In case of municipal councils, its president would now get Rs 10,500 per month instead of Rs 3000.

Similarly, earlier the vice-president and member were getting Rs 2000 and Rs 1500 per month respectively and now they would get Rs 7500 each.

In case of municipal committee, the president was earlier getting Rs 2500 per month and now he would get Rs 6500.

Likewise, its vice-president and members were earlier getting Rs 2000 and Rs 1000 per month and now they would get Rs 4500.
