Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said the state government has identified 32 blocks for setting up industries, which will expand job opportunities in rural areas.

"The aim of the state government is to generate local job opportunities for the youth of rural areas through such industries," an official release quoted Khattar as saying.

He was speaking at a function organized by Vishwakarma Sabha Haryana on the occasion of Vishwakarma Diwas here.

The government is exploring all prospects for setting up industries in rural areas, he added.

Khattar said that the government has introduced its new industrial policy under which 32 blocks have been identified in rural areas of the state.

"Any person can set up industry in these blocks and for that there would be no need for change of land use (CLU)," he said.

He said that the government has decided that farmers' land will not be acquired without their permission.

Industrialists interested in setting up units will have to purchase land directly from farmers, he said.

Khattar said the government will provide special support to industries that would be set up in rural areas. Under this, Rs 36,000 would be given to an industrial unit for every local person employed belonging to scheduled castes and Rs 30,000 for a local person belonging to other categories.

The government has a target of providing jobs to four lakh people under the new industrial policy.

Also, the government expects an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore under the new policy, he added.

He said that out of the total 2.5 crore population of the state, only 2.5 lakh are serving in government jobs.

The chief minister said that since most of the population of the state is not dependent on government jobs, the administration wants to provide job opportunities to youth in rural areas.

Khattar said youths could avail loans without any guarantee to set up their own ventures under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Bank Yojna.

All banks have been given targets to provide loans under this scheme, he said, adding that a draft has been prepared for people without any source of income.
