The Haryana Government has increased the minimum wages of labourers by Rs 245 in the State and these rates would be effective from January 1, 2013 thus benefiting a large number of labourers.
Disclosing this here today, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Pt Shiv Charan Lal Sharma said that the decision to increase the minimum wages would benefit lakhs of labourers working in factories, shops, dhabas, small undertakings and brick kilns.
As many as, 7.5 lakh workers are working in about 11,500 large and small scale industries and four lakh are working in the shops, dhabas and small undertakings.
The consumer price index is reviewed after every six months in January and July and the minimum wages are determined as per increase or decrease in the consumer price index, he said.
Giving details of the minimum wages, the Minister said that the unskilled labourers in the State would now get minimum wage of Rs 5212.15 per month or Rs 200.46 per day, semi skilled (A) Rs 5342.15 per month or Rs 205.46 per day, semi skilled (B) Rs 5472.15 per month or Rs 210.46 per day.
Similarly, skilled labourers (A) would now get minimum wage of Rs 5602.15 per month or Rs 215.46 per day and skilled (B) would get Rs 5732.15 per month or Rs 220.46 per day.
The highly skilled workers would now get minimum wage of Rs 5862.15 per month or Rs 225.46 per day.
