Haryana increases parental income limit of SC students

Haryana government has decided to increase the limit of parental income of Scheduled Caste students.

Stating this here today, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said, the income ceiling has been raised under the Scheduled Caste sub-plan for academic session 2013-14 to enable more students avail the benefit.

The limit has been increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2.4 lakh and from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh, for reimbursement of tuition fees up to Rs 20,000 for diploma courses and tuition fees up to Rs 40,000 for under-graduate or post-graduate technical courses, he said.

Scholarship amount of Rs 20.66 crore for academic session 2012-13 has been released to 9,718 SC beneficiaries, he said.
