Haryana legislator and state minister Ajay Singh Yadav has urged the railways minister to order speeding up of efforts to trace two minor girls who went missing last month from Rewari railway station.

Seven-year-old Parul from the nearby Cheemnawas village and five-year old Divya from Patauda village in Jhajjar district went missing on May 4 and and May 20, respectively, from Rewari railway station.

Family members of the missing girls have alleged that both were kidnapped from the railway station.

In a letter to Railways Minister CP Joshi, state power minister Yadav, who represents the Rewari Assembly seat, also drew attention to the state of CCTV cameras at Rewari railway station, which he said are reportedly defunct.

Local shopkeepers, meanwhile, observed a complete shutdown yesterday against the police's alleged failure in tracing the two minor girls.
