Haryana on course, Maharashtra men win second tie

Formidable Haryana completed three wins, while hosts Maharashtra coasted to their second, in the men's league of the 27th Senior National Baseball Championship, at the Guru Govind Singh District Sports Complex, here today.

Haryana, who beat Himachal Pradesh in their opening tie, overcame Pondicherry and Uttar Pradesh by convincing margins to enhance their hopes of qualifying for the knockout phase.

Maharashtra eased to a 14-0 win over Jammu & Kashmir, who crashed to their third defeat in as many outings, while Delhi fashioned their third win following a 5-1 verdict over Chattisgarh.

Delhi's women registered back-to-back wins against Bihar and UP, while last year's runners-up MP opened their campaign with a 9-0 win over Haryana.

Men: Delhi bt Bihar 11-0; Haryana bt Pondicherry 8-0; HP drew UP 3-3; Delhi bt Chattisgarh 5-1; Mah bt J&K 14-0; Haryana bt UP 13-0; HP bt Pondicherry 10-0; Chattisgarh bt Bihar 10-5; Raj bt J&K 11-1; Uttarakhand bt Raj 4-1; Gujarat bt J&K 4-2.

Women: Delhi bt Bihar 10-0; MP bt Haryana 9-0; Delhi bt UP 12-0.
