Haryana orders 'girdawari' to assess crop damage

Haryana Government today said it had ordered a special "girdawari" survey for assessment of damage to crops due to the recent hailstorm in different parts of the state.

Giving this order, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said the Deputy Commissioners would be held responsible if any delay occur in giving compensation to the affected farmers.

While stating this here today, an official spokesman said the Deputy Commissioners have been directed to get a special "girdawari" conducted of the hailstorm-affected areas and send their reports for further action.

He said they had been asked to immediately send the report to this effect in their respective areas so that the affected farmers could be compensated.
