Haryana orders mending of Gurgaon's arterial roads

Taking the decision on improving infrastructure at a meeting of officials concerned, he said the Millennium City was a showpiece of teh state and the government was serious about its development.

He directed the Municipal Corporation Gurgaon (MCG) and HUDA authorities to complete the task of filling potholes on all major arterial roads by a month and also to repair footpaths along those roads.

The internal roads of HUDA sectors will be mended within three months, he said.

Infrastructure should be commensurate with the investment being done, he said while ordering to complete development works in a fixed time period.

 

MCG Commissioner, Sudhir Rajpal, informed the meeting that the body was going to take up remodeling, street lighting and drainage on major roads like that from Rajiv Chowk to Sector 4/7 at a cost of Rs 8.5 crore by year end.

Old Delhi road and MG road will be repaired at a cost of Rs 6 crore each, he said.

The government has sanctioned Rs 90 crore for total upgradation of sewage, water supply and roads in 10 villages which fall in MCG area and this will be completed in one year.

Principal Secretary of Urban Development department, S S Dhillon, said 9 estimates of Rs 300 crore total have been approved for HUDA area in Gurgaon.

Later, the Chief Secretary met Mayor Vimal Yadav and assured that all basic requirements of Gurgaon will be met.

He also inaugurated a mobile compatible web portal and launched a franchise model for online citizen services.
