Haryana Pollution Control Board to expand network

The decision was taken by Additional Chief Secretary, Environment, P K Gupta, who is also Chairman, HSPCB, in a meeting of Board of Directors of HSPCB, an official release said.

He said with the opening of these two new regional offices, there would be a total of 12 regional offices of the Board located at Faridabad, Ballabgarh, Gurgaon North, Gurgaon South, Sonepat, Panipat, Bahadurgarh, Yamuna Nagar, Hisar, Panchkula, Dharuhera and Jind.

He said the District Level Committee and District Level Clearance Committee would now be headed by Deputy Commissioner or his representative not below the rank of Additional Deputy Commissioner.

 

Regarding bank guarantee, it was decided that instead of taking bank guarantee at the time of consent to establish, only bank draft as prescribed for units to make up deficiencies or inadequacies would be deposited by the industrial units.

It was also decided that the amount could be adjusted for second unit of the same company, if the amount of earlier company is due for refund or release. The unit is also at liberty to get this amount adjusted against the consent fee if the amount is due for release or refund.

He said it was decided that a separate corpus would be maintained for the amount which is forfeited from the non- complying units and this money would be utilised for getting installation of Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs), Sewage Treatment Plants, awareness purposes, pollution checking and surveillance activities, research and development activities.

He said it was also decided that the period of consent for green category of industries be kept as five years.
