Power distribution utilities in Haryana plan to provide more channels for registering complaints regarding interruptions in power supply and other commercial issues.

Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHVBN) are looking into possibilities of starting a system of registering complaints through SMS and emails, a spokesman of DHBVN said here today.

The utilities have decided to provide online facility for lodging complaints by using Nigam's computers in the offices of all Sub Divisional Officers.

Operators in these offices will help consumers to lodge complaints with the online Consumer Grievance Redressal System (CGRS), where employees are bound to attend them within a stipulated period, he said.

Though all type of complaints can be registered, the system is more useful for complaints regarding commercial issues, billing, metering, connections, expansion of system and maintenance of power distribution system, he added.
