Haryana Roadways to launch city bus service in Rohtak, Hisar

The city bus service, launched in May this year in Gurgaon and Faridabad, has been a huge success, Director General State Transport Arun Kumar said here.

He said in Gurgaon, about 55 to 60 buses were being plied in two shifts from 6 am to 10 pm whereas in Faridabad, about 90 to 95 buses were running in two shifts.

"While in Gurgaon, Haryana Roadways is carrying about 60,000 city passengers every day, in Faridabad it is catering to the need of about 80,000 to 90,000 city passengers," he said.

In its city fleet in Gurgaon and Faridabad, Haryana Roadways is using semi-low floor, low floor and a specially designed ordinary bus meant for city operation.

 

"The specially designed bus, which provides ample space for standing and better comfort, has also been introduced between Panchkula and Chandigarh. At present 12 such standard buses are plying between Panchkula and Chandigarh and 10 more would soon be inducted," he added.
