Haryana seeks Centre's help in its fight against cancer,

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij today sought Central government's help in dealing with diseases such as cancer and Hepatitis-C besides seeking a ban on loose cigarettes.

Vij met Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda here today and urged him to get a study conducted on issues concerning cancer and Hepatitis-C in Haryana and help the state by providing mobile vans so as to launch an intensive drive to check the spread of cancer and Hepatitis- C in the state.

While apprising State Government's resolve to set up medical colleges in each district of Haryana, Vij sought Central assistance to achieve this target.
 

Expressing concern over the manner in which the cold chain of certain medicines was being maintained, the Haryana Minister also urged Nadda to address the issue either by devising ways and means or enacting a legislation.

Vij also drew the attention of the Union Minister towards the sale of cigarettes and chewing gum containing nicotine and sought a ban on sale of loose cigarettes.
