The Haryana "Shoshit Samaj" today staged a demonstration here in protest against the decision to include Jats in the OBC category, and claimed the Congress high command was given "false figures".
Activists of the organisation took out a procession from Dadri Gate to Ghantaghar Chowk. They raised slogans against the central and state governments, and burnt the effigy of the Congress.
Addressing the activists, state president of the organisation Rajender Tanwar said the central government constituted two Commissions for the survey of backward classes since Independence -- the Kaka Kalerkar Commission in 1953 and the Mandal Commission in 1978.

"On the basis of the survey, Jat politicians presented false figures before Sonia Gandhi (Congress president) and Rahul Gandhi (vice-president), and forced them to declare Jat reservation," Tanwar claimed.
He said the National Backward Classes Commission had refused to declare Jats as backward following conducting a survey of Jats in 2011.
