Haryana government has implemented a scheme for the protection and rehabilitation of children working in circuses.
The scheme has been implemented for making recommendation and guidelines for rehabilitation of rescued children working in circuses, an official spokesman said here today.
It would protect such children from negligence, maltreatment, injury, trafficking, sexual and physical abuse, pornography, corporal punishment, exploitation and other degrading treatment, he said.

The Child Welfare Committee, Surprise Inspection Team and District Child Protection Unit would be the major enforcement agencies for the purpose.
The CWC would have authority to raid circuses at any point in time and also recommend cancellation of approval orders with the consent of Deputy Commissioner concerned, he said.
It would also inspect to ensure that no child below 14 years of age is found employed in the circus and a database of every child is created with details of their health check-up reports, education status and family contacts.
