Haryana government has decided to amend civic by-laws to control the spread of vector-borne diseases in the state, a senior official said here today.
"The Civic By-laws would soon be amended for controlling vector borne diseases in Haryana and to effectively implement preventive measures against such diseases," said Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Navraj Sandhu.
She said civic by-laws of urban local bodies department would be amended on the pattern of Municipal Corporation Mumbai, for which a committee has been constituted.

With a view to spread awareness among school children regarding prevention of diseases, special workshops would be organised for the teachers, a release quoting her said here.
She said that for the awareness, prevention and control of vector borne diseases, 'Swachhta Utsav' would be observed in the month of August and September, which is the peak transmission period of vector borne diseases, with the help of Development and Panchayats Department.
