Haryana to recruit staff for transport department

Haryana government today said it has initiated the process to recruit 1,500 drivers, 930 conductors and 951 technical staff to overcome shortage of staff.

Transport Minister Krishan Lal Panwar said the recruitment has been started following the talks held with representatives of various unions of the employees.

In an official release, he said 2,390 new drivers were required in the department by March 31, 2017, of which recruitment process for 413 drivers had been completed.

With the recruitment of 1,500 new drivers, the department would have 1,913 new drivers and the problem of shortage of drivers would be resolved to some extent. More drivers would be recruited by March 31, 2017, he added.
 

He said 300 new buses would soon be added to the fleet of the department.

The procedure to purchase these buses would be completed this month. There is a target to include 1,000 new buses in the fleet by March 31, 2017.
