Sugar being produced in cooperative sugar mills in Haryana will now be sold through e-tendering so there could be more transparency in its sale.
This was informed in a meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary DS Dhesi for further improving the functioning of state cooperative sugar mills here, an official spokesman said today.
Services of experienced specialists in this field would be sought for better commercial management of the sugar mills, it was further informed.
Panipat sugar mill would be shifted near village Nahar and possibilities would be explored to run this mill on public private partnership mode, he said.
Apart from setting up ethanol plant in Shahabad Cooperative sugar mill, the Karnal sugar mill would be expanded and modernized, the official said.
The issue of monitoring of selling price of sugar was also discussed in the meeting, he added.
