Hastinapur land grab case: Bail plea of main accused rejected

A local court today rejected the bail plea of a retired Uttar Pradesh revenue department clerk, who is the main accused in the Hastinapur sanctuary land grabbing case.

District sessions judge Vijay Laxmi has rejected the bail plea of the main accused, Shiv Kumar.

According to district government counsel Dushyant Tyagi, Kumar has been booked under relevant sections of IPC and the Forest Act.

The authorities have unearthed the grabbing of Hastinapur sanctuary land last month. So far around 27 cases have been filed against several persons including retired government employees in connection with the case.
