Hastinapur sanctuary land grab: 3 land mafias arrested

Three land mafias, who were absconding, have been arrested in connection with Hastinapur sanctuary land grabbing case at Ramraj village here, police said today.

A case was registered against the three for encroachment of government land in Hastinapur sanctuary, following which they were absconding, police said.

The three, identified as Sher Singh, Sube Singh, and Charni Singh, were yesterday arrested in connection with encroaching the government land in Ramraj area, they said.

Earlier, cases were registered against retired revenue clerk Shiv Kumar and dismissed revenue clerk Jai Bhagwan including others for their alleged involvement in grabbing government land worth crores of rupees in Hastinapur sanctuary in the district.
 

As many as 30 cases have been registered in different police stations against the alleged encroachment of government land in 27 villages in the district.
