Hastinapur sanctuary land grab: one revenue clerk dismissed

A revenue clerk, who was arrested on November 28 in connection with alleged Hastinapur Sanctuary land grab scam, has been dismissed from service, police said today.

According to District Magistrate Koshal Raj Sharma, during a departmental enquiry, revenue clerk Jai Bhagwan was found involved in the land grab case.

About 22 cases have been registered against Jai Bhagwan at different police stations in the district.

Earlier, six revenue officials were suspended in the alleged Hastinapur land grab case on December 31, 2014. The six revenue clerks who were booked in December last, are Omvir, Shiv Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Amlesh Singh, Ramesh Chand and Pramod, according to Additional District Magistrate Indermani Tripathi.
 

Cases as many as 30 have been registered in different police stations against the alleged encroachment on government land in 27 villages in the district.

Seven persons accused in land grab case surrendered before police on December 24 and were later sent to judicial custody by a court here.

Land grabbing of government land worth crores of rupees in Hastinapur sanctuary was unearthed by the district authorities in the district.
