National Conference working president Omar Abdullah today said he would not comment on Independence Day speeches of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as he did not have anything nice to say about them.

"My mum always says if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything. So I'm not saying anything about the PM's or CM's speeches," Omar wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter, soon after attending the Independence Day function at Bakshi Stadium here.

Omar was seated next to PDP president Mehbooba Mufti at the function presided over by the state Chief Minister.

The political arch rivals could be seen sharing some lighter moments with smiles on their faces.
