Havells aims to double revenues from Standard Electricals

Electrical goods maker Havells India is aiming to double revenues from its popular brand -- Standard Electricals -- as part of foray into the domestic fans segment, a top company official said today.

Currently, Standard Electricals offers domestic and industrial switchgears.

As part of garnering larger pie in the domestic fans market, the company launched 12 new range of models in ceiling, pedestal, table, wall and exhaust fans in the price band between Rs 1,650 and Rs 2,500.

"Over the last five decades, Standard Electricals has built a formidable reputation with its products. Standrad brand currently contributes around Rs 300 crore and we wish to take this to Rs 600 crore in next three years...," Havells India Senior Vice-President Narendra Choudhary said.
 

Commenting about the new range of cement fans, he said the fans would be manufactured at the company's manufacturing facility in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

With the launch of the domestic fans, he said the company has set a target of generating Rs 100 crore revenue in its first year.

Modular switches under the 'Ivy' brand was also launched by Choudhary on the occasion.

With the launch of the fans, the company would increase its distribution network to 5,000 from the existing 3,500 in the next one year, he said.
