Havells India today said it will replace the existing imported technology-based circuit breakers with indigenously developed products.

"So far, circuit breakers manufacturing in India was based on imported technology. We also used to produce the product technology adopted from a German company. Now, by September, we will replace the existing products with company developed products in the market," Havells India VP AV Jagdish said here.

"The new range circuit breakers christened as Euro II is the first ever 100 per cent made and designed in India. The product pricing is not going to impact though we will offer better features," he said earlier during the launch of innovative switchgear products like distribution boards and circuit breakers (MCB/ RCCB).

Speaking about new acquisition of majority stake of 51 per cent in Promptec Renewable Energy Solutions, communications head Anil Sharma said that Havells will introduce solar LED lamps shortly.

However, there was no major plan to infuse capital in Bengaluru-based company and rather will try to utilise its existing lighting making facilities in exploiting LED opportunities.

Eastern region is an important market for Havells with 23 per cent of revenue contribution.

"We had a turnover of Rs 1200 crore last year and in the current fiscal we are aiming at Rs 1400 crore top line from the region," Havells Associate Director Y K Gupta said.
