Hawala racket busted in Hyderabad

With the arrest of six persons, the Hyderabad police today claimed to have busted a hawala racket.

A team of Commissioner's Task Force intercepted a vehicle and found five handbags containing currency bundles, police sources said.

The cash added up to over Rs 1 crore 90 lakh. The alleged hawala agents who were arrested failed to account for it, or to produce any document pertaining to it.

The money was to be handed over to someone else, probe revealed.
