The Madras High Court today adjourned the petition filed by film producer S Thanu to punish A Kothandaramaiah for allegedly disobeying court orders.

The court adjourned the plea to enable Kothandaramaiah, whose election as the president of the Tamil Film Producers Council is under challenge of KR Infotainment Private Limited, to file the counter.

In his application, Thanu said the Court had restrained elected office-bearers of the Council to refrain from taking any policy or major administrative decision on his plea challenging the Council elections on September 7 this year.

But a policy decision was taken on October 25 at a meeting, convened by Kothandaramaiah, amounting to gross disobedience of court orders, he alleged, and prayed the court to punish him.

As per court order, the elections were held to the Council under the supervision of two retired High Court Judges. This was challenged by Thanu, who contested for the post of the President.
