: Kerala High Court today admitted a petition by former M G University Vice Chancellor, Dr A V George, challenging his removal by state Governor for alleged misrepresentation in the biodata submitted by him for the post.

Justice P N Ravindran ordered issue of notices to the Governor Sheila Dikshit, who is the Chancellor of the varsity and the state government.

According to the petitioner, his removal was 'illegal' and the biodata submitted by him contained true facts.

George, a geologist, had allegedly claimed in his biodata that he had worked as Head of the Department at the central university at Kasaragode. However, it later came to light that he had worked in the central university only on deputation. Following this George was removed last month.
