Kerala High court today directed CBI to inform it about the steps taken by the probe agency after the notification to transfer of the case relating to the murder of IUML activist Abdul Shukkoor to it.

The direction in this regard was issued by Justice K Ramakrishnan while considering petitions filed by Shukkoor's mother seeking CBI probe into the murder and another petition by MLA T V Rajesh challenging the CBI probe.

The state challenged the right of the accused to question CBI probe.

Meanwhile, Rajesh's counsel stated that state had no right to raise objections in this matter.

The case has been posted after three weeks.

Many CPI(M) leaders, including Rajesh, are accused in the case.

Shukkoor was killed allegedly by CPI(M) workers at Keezhara in Kannur district in February 2012.
