The Madras High Court today directed that local police be impleaded in a petition seeking a direction to top police officials to register a complaint against DMDK leader Vijayakanth for allegedly spitting at journalists during a press meet here.
Justice R Subbiah posted the matter for further hearingto January 11.
Petitioner G. Devarajan had sought a direction to the DGP, the Commissioner of Police and the DCP of Mylapore to launch criminal proceedings against Vijayakanth for his alleged behaviour while addressing the media here on December 27 last.
The petitioner said that the online complaint made by him to authorities did not evoke any response and hence he filed the present criminal original petition.
