A division bench of acting Chief Justice Amitava Lala and Justice Pradeep Kumar Singh Baghel passed the order on the PIL filed by an advocate Satya Prakash Rai.

The petitioner has based the PIL on a newspaper report dated September 20 wherein it had been reported that the state government had issued directives to concerned authorities for withdrawal of criminal cases lodged against SP activists during 2007-12 when BSP was in power.

Directing the state government to disclose the guidelines issued and the action taken so far in this regard, the court fixed October 10 as the next date of hearing in the matter.
