In a relief for the contractor firms facing criminal cases with regard to Mokhabardi lift irrigation project, the Bombay High Court today directed Anti Corruption Bureau not to take any coercive action against them.

The Nagpur bench of Justices Vasanti Naik and V M Deshpande also sought a reply from Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau by April 26.

R J Shah and Company and D Thakkar Constructions had moved the HC, seeking quashing of complaints against them.

ACB had on March 30 registered cases against two retired engineers, a serving senior divisional accounts officer and six contractors for alleged fraud and corrupt practise in the Mokhabardi lift irrigation project which is a part of Gosikhurd irrigation project.

There are allegations of irregularities in the tender process and formation of a cartel to rig the tender process against them.
