The Bombay High Court today asked the Maharashtra government and the police to produce the case diaries of state CID pertaining to alleged suicide of a 27-year-old executive with an MNC whose body was found on the railway tracks in suburban Mulund in 2010.
The division bench headed by Justice P V Hardas was hearing a public interest litigation seeking a CBI probe into the alleged suicide of Kapil Patil.
The court also issued notice to the senior police officer of the concerned police station, seeking response and adjourning the hearing to February 3.

Patil, who helped the underprivileged children with education, had learnt about a senior police inspector of Navghar police station in Mulund having affair with a young girl, according to the PIL. He persuaded the girl to pursue education and she stopped seeing the officer.
Subsequently, police arrested him in a false case before he got bail, the petition alleges. However, he was picked up again, and finally, on March 21, 2010, his body was found on the tracks.
Patil had no criminal antecedents and hailed from a well-educated family. Police station diary has a noting as "escape from custody" about his disappearance, but no wireless message was ever sent to other stations, the PIL says.
The state government ordered a CID inquiry but it did not yield any result, Tirodkar says, seeking a CBI probe.
