In an effort to make the Madras High Court campus garbage-free, the HC has launched a month- long drive to remove waste from the premises and declared December as the 'Month of Cleanliness Awareness.'
Based on the direction of Justice R Sudhakar, Chairman, and the Madras High Court Building Committee, the court staff took part in the drive and removed 30 tonnes of garbage from the court premise on Saturday.
On November 4, the Registrar (Administration), V Devanathan, had sent a communication directing heads of sections and officers in charge to ensure that no broken chairs, leaking water taps, broken washbasins, unused computers, printers, dangling electric wires or any other unwanted material remained in the premises.
As per direction, the court staff took part in the cleanliness drive and removed 30 tonnes of garbage from the premises on Saturday. Waste was also removed from all the offices on Saturday.
