The Madras High Court today declined to entertain a petition which sought a direction to the Sports Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDATN) to take over administration of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) in view of allegations of irregularities.

When the matter came up for hearing, counsel for the petitioner Singaravelar Cricket Club sought two weeks time to include more respondents.

The First Bench, comprising Acting Chief Justice Rajesh Kumar Agrawal and Justice M Sathyanarayanan, said there were not enough grounds to entertain the petition and advised the petitioner's counsel to withdraw it.

However, they said the petitioner was at liberty to file a fresh petition.
