The Madras High Court today directed Principal District Judges (PDJs) of 13 districts in its jurisdiction to give a report on implementing the court's circular banning banners and flex boards inside and outside the premises of district courts.

Justice R Sudhakar and Justice V M Velumani of the HC's Madurai bench, hearing a PIL filed by one S P Ganesh, said there was a circular banning posters and flex boards inside and outside the premises of courts.

Respective PDJs should give a report on implementing the circular, the bench ordered.

The High Court bench had recently issued a circular banning distribution of pamphlets, holding agitations and erecting banners and flex boards inside and outside courts premises.

The petitioner submitted that most of the courts did not implement the order and various outfits defaced the court complex with posters.
