The direction was given by a bench headed by Chief Justice Mohit Shah on a PIL filed by Dr Anahita Pundole who moved the court against illegal hoardings dotting the city.

The PIL urged that rules may be framed by the BMC for putting up hoardings at various places.

On last occasion, the petitioner suggested that BMC's Superintendent of Licenses should be held responsible for such illegal banners.

The court has posted the matter for arguments on July 16.
