Jharkhand High Court today directed the Centre and state government to release money earmarked for construction of its building at the earliest.

The division bench of Justice D N Patel and Justice A K Gupta issued the orders after Additional Solicitor General Mokhtar Khan informed the court that the Centre is bearing 75 per cent of the estimated cost and the rest is by the state government.

Khan also informed the bench that the Centre could release the funds only after clearance by the Planning Commission and the state should contact it.

During its review of the progress of the construction of new building to house the high court, Additional Advocate General Ajit Kumar informed the bench that the new building, including quarters, has been estimated at Rs 452.07 crore.

The court fixed June 16 as the next day for hearing.
