HC directs govt to respond on Sangeet Som's plea seeking Z+

The Allahabad High Court today directed the Union Home Ministry to file a response within four weeks on a petition moved by BJP MLA Sangeet Singh Som seeking Z plus security cover.

A Lucknow bench of justices D K Upadhyay and Rajesh Singh Chauhan passed the order on the writ petition of Som.

According to his lawyer Mudit Agrawal, Z plus category security is required for Som due to the security threat to him from terrorists.

The court directed the Centre to file a counter affidavit within four weeks and further granted two weeks to the petitioner to file a rejoinder affidavit within next two weeks, fixing the matter after six weeks for hearing.
