The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has directed police to provide round the clock protection to the wife of K.Jamal Mohamed, managing trustee of the K M Allaudin Rowther Dharma Trust, who was allegedly abducted and murdered.
The wife, Jainab Beevi, had filed a petition alleging that local police were failing to act according to law and they were trying to safeguard the real accused,and sought CBI probe.
As per a court direction, police submitted call details of some persons suspected to be involved in the kidnap and murder of Mohamed, in the court.

The petitioner's husband went missing on August 31 and his body was found on September 8 near Perumalmalai in Kodaikanal.The registration had been done on September 1.
When the matter came up before Justice N.Kirubakaran, the petitioner's counsel said though complaint was lodged before the police pointing out specific names of the suspected persons, the police did not act accordingly.
Besides, different versions were being floated with regard to murder of the petitioner's husband and there has been a threat to the petitioner and relatives.
To this, the government side submitted that police are investigating the case properly and have so far detained nine persons and hence there was no need to transfer the case to the other agency.
The court then directed police to give round the clock police protection to the petitioner and her relatives.
