The next day, after the routine visit of doctor, a woman introduced herself as hospital worker, asked her to hand over the new born for conducting "breathing test".

When the Meenakshi refused to hand over the child, the woman forcefully pushed her and took the baby and escaped from the ward. Though a search was conducted, the woman could not be traced, Meenakshi said.

Though she lodged police complaint with the GRH police under Section 363 of IPC (kidnapping, till today police were not able to trace the infant and could not arrest the kidnappers.

The petitioner submitted that she suspected that an organised child traffic gang was operating in the hospital with an intention to kidnap the new born babies.

She also sought transfer of the case to an independent investigation agency.

The case was adjourned to August six.
