Madras High Court today dismissed a contempt petition filed with regard to the registration of a case on the complaint made by an advocate in connection with the expenses incurred by the previous DMK Government for the World Classical Tamil Conference in 2010.
Justice R.Mala, before whom the contempt petition filed by Advocate B.Ramesh Babu came up for hearing, in her order said "On perusal of counter affidavits filed by Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) it is clear that they have taken effective steps for inquiry. So I do not find any disobedience in the implementation of the order passed by this court. Hence the contempt petition is dismissed."
Petitioner had earlier obtained an order from the court directing the DVAC to register a case on his complaint and proceed in accordance with law.
