The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court today dismissed a writ petition filed by a former additional district and sessions judge, challenging his removal on charges of misconduct in 2006.
"The writ petition, being devoid of merit, is accordingly dismissed, a division bench of Justice Amreshwar Pratap Sahi and Justice Attau Rahman Masoodi said.
Former additional district and sessions judge Satya Pal Narang was removed from service on November 9, 2006.
"The duty of a judge is like holding a torch in the dark which has to glow not only to show path to others but must be utilised to find one's own path as well," the court said, while dismissing the petition.
