The Bombay High Court has dismissed a petition challenging the election of Youth Congress chief Rajiv Satav from Hingoli Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra, observing that no ground was made out.
Subhash Wankhede of Shiv Sena, who lost to Satav by a very slim margin in the April-May 2014 elections, had alleged in the petition that Satav was facing a criminal case in Bihar but he did not disclose this in his affidavit before the Election Commission.
Justice T V Nalawade of the Aurangabad bench of High Court, however, noted in his order last week that even charges had not been framed in this case.
