Kerala High Court today dismissed a petition challenging the registration of Socialist Janata Party (SJP) headed by M P Veerendrakumar in the state by the Election Commission.
Justice P R Ramachandra Menon dismissed the petition filed by Palode Santosh of Thiruvananthapuram.
Santosh had filed a petition before the Election Commission challenging SJP's registration, which was dismissed on June 13 last by the EC.

He had moved the EC alleging that SJP had resorted to malpractices in its registration.
When the petition came up before Justice Menon, counsel for Election Commission submitted that on receiving the complaiant of the petitioner, the Commission had sought explanation from Veerendrakumar.
Then the Commission had held that there was no material to support the contentions of Santosh and had dismissed the petition.
Accepting the Election Commission's view, the Judge held that there was no ground to interfere with the order of the poll body.
The court also rejected the prayer by the petitioner to call for the entire records relating to the registration of the party.
