The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court today further relaxed conditions imposed on DMK leader M K Alagiri's son Durai alias Dayanathi while granting an anticipatory bail in an illegal granite quarrying case.

Passing orders on a plea by Durai, Justice R.Karuppiah said it would be enough if he informed the Judicial Magistrate Court at Melur three days in advance about his foreign travel and he could send the copy of the intimation to the Assistant Public Prosecutor also.

Durai had obtained the anticipatory bail on December 10, 2012 in the case registered against him on charges including illegal granite quarrying and possession of explosives.

Relaxing the bail conditions, the court had on April 3 last ordered the return of the petitioner's passport, surrendered by him earlier, and asked him to inform the Magistrate at least 10 days in advance and obtain the court's permission to go abroad.

In his petition, Durai sought complete removal of the conditions, claiming that he was "deliberately detained" for nearly three hours by immigration authorities twice seeking the high court order.
