The Rajasthan High Court today gave a last chance to the state government till July eight to regularise services of all contractual employees of the health department who have completed 10 years of service.

Issuing a notice to the government in this regard, Justice G K Vyas asked why the order of permanent postings of these contractual workers was not issued in line with the guidelines of the Supreme Court.

"We are giving the state government a last chance to give them permanent postings by July eight. Otherwise the court will pass an order on its own," the Judge said.

A N M Bindra Devi and Sohani along with 600 contract workers of the Medical and Health department had filed a petition seeking regularisation of their services.

The court had issued a notice to the state government earlier also.

The petitioners had said they were employed in 2002 by the Medical, Health and Family Welfare department through the laid-down recruitment process.

"Since the appointment, we have been discharging our duties at par with permanent workers," the petition said.
