The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to a man accused of running an educational institute here without proper recognition from the authorities concerned.

It is alleged that Vinod B Lal, along with others, was running the Ewing Christian Public School Junior Branch without having recognition from authorities.

The bail application, filed by Lal, was opposed by Additional Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh, who submitted that the accused has a long criminal history and was involved in many forgery cases.

Justice M K Gupta granted bail to Lal with conditions that he shall surrender his passport, if any, before the trial court judge within a week and shall not tamper with the evidence or threaten witnesses in the case.

Also, he should remain present before the trial court on each date fixed, either personally or through his counsel, the judge said.
